How long does it take to incorporate a company in the Netherlands with a corporate service provider?

With Local Management, incorporating a company in the Netherlands typically takes up to two weeks. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly onboarding is completed and on the complexity of the ownership structure.

The Four Steps

  1. First contact and scoping. We discuss your structure, your owners and the services you need.
  2. Fee proposal. You receive a proposal for the work, so you know the cost before you commit.
  3. Client onboarding and KYC. As a DNB-licensed trust office, we must verify the identity of the owners and directors and the ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) before we can act.
  4. Incorporation. A civil-law notary draws up the notarial deed of incorporation, containing the articles of association, and arranges registration in the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) Business Register and the UBO register.

What Can Make It Faster or Slower

  • How complete your documents are at the start. See What documents do I need?
  • Whether the shareholders are individuals or companies, and how many layers the structure has.
  • Whether foreign documents need to be translated or legalised.
  • The notary’s availability.

After Incorporation

The company receives its KVK number, and the Tax Administration normally sends its notification, for example for VAT and payroll tax, within about two weeks. Opening a Dutch bank account is a separate process with its own timeline, so plan for it early.
