Remko is one of the founding partners of LOCAL and an experienced director focused on servicing corporate and private clients across Europe. He held management and director positions in various countries such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, Spain and the Netherlands with focus on local strategy, sustainable growth and operational excellence.

In the beginning of his career, Remko worked for KPMG Meijburg & Co Tax Lawyers and Ernst & Young Tax Advisors in different areas and departments as part of their internal career programs and acted as chairman of the Dutch Association of Young Tax advisers. Remko combined his professional activities with the Executive MBA in general management with a specialisation in entrepreneurship from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in 2009 and 2010.

Remko obtained a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s Degree in Law specializing in Tax Law from the same University. He has a bachelor degree in Auditing from the HES Amsterdam School of Business.

Remko is a fanatic cyclist and enjoys ice speed skating. He is also an expert in Italian wines.
